Murchison Minerals Commences Diamond Drilling in High-Grade HPM…

BURLINGTON, ON / ACCESSWIRE / August 5, 2022 / Murchison Minerals Ltd. (“Murchison” or the “Company”) (TSX-V:MUR)(OTCQB:MURMF) is pleased to announce that Phase III – diamond drilling – of summer exploration has commenced. The Company is focused on drilling the Barre de Fer (“BDF”) high-grade nickel, copper and cobalt zone and the Syrah target on the 100% owned HPM (Haut Plateau de la Manicouagan) project. is located in Quebec. The Company expects to drill at least 7,500m over the course of the program. The majority of the meters will be allocated for expansion and demarcation at BDF. The remaining drilling is focused on the Syrah target – a 600m long EM anomaly located approximately 240m from BDF. The Company’s current interpretation shows the possibility that Syrah and BDF are part of the same magmatic sulphide mineralized system. Due to the recently completed private placement (July 4ththPress Release 2022) the Company is well funded to achieve its objectives during the 2022 exploration program.

Goals of the summer drill program

  1. Expand the currently defined high-grade BDF zone
  2. Test the extent of underground mineralization at the Syrah target
  3. Define a near-surface, high-grade nickel-copper-cobalt resource at BDF

Barre de Fer zone

  • The BDF Zone (the “Zone”) is currently defined by 25 diamond drill holes with 5,564 meters of drilling completed between 2001 and 2008
  • Based on preliminary modelling, the zone outcrops at surface, has a strike length of 315m and consists of multiple stacked lenses over a maximum width of 150m. Individual lenses have a maximum thickness of 28µm. The modeled mineralization extends to a vertical depth of 295m. Outside of the current model, extensive mineralization has also been intersected to a vertical depth of 440m. The zone remains unconstrained along strike and at depth.
