Trump’s adult children could be sued after New York prosecutors…

The USA Ministry of Justice‘s criminal proceedings against donald trump about the secret documents secured by him Mar-a-Lago Residency isn’t the only legal challenge facing the former president. He and his real estate business – The Trump Organization — are also the subject of a civil investigation by the New York Attorney General‘s office.

What happened: The attorney general’s office has rejected an offer by Trump’s attorneys to settle the investigation and is also considering suing at least one of the former president’s adult children — Eric, Ivanka and Donald Trump Jr. — who were all executives at The Trump Organization. The New York Times said in a report citing people with knowledge of the matter.

The likelihood of a fraud lawsuit by Trump has now increased, the report added.

Attorney General letitia james, a Democrat, has been conducting the 3 1/2-year investigation into whether Trump “fraudulently” inflated the value of his fortune. She is up for re-election in mid-November, the NYT report said.

Trump has reportedly denied any wrongdoing and has accused James of leading a politically motivated witch hunt, the report said.

Why it matters: If the investigation culminates in a court case and Trump faces losing, he may face fines and restrictions to conduct business operations in New York, the report added.
