LOS ANGELES, Sept. 29, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — The Los Angeles Rams and Dairy Council of California continued their rich history of supporting local communities Wednesday by awarding the Culver City School District a Fuel Up to Play 60 Hometown Grant $10,000 World School Milk Day, September 28, 2022.

The grant will be shared among schools in the district to support healthy eating and wellness programs for students.

Even more exciting is that the Culver City Unified School District will leverage this community investment across all schools in the district,” said Tammy Anderson. This scholarship was awarded to the Culver City Unified School District after the Dairy Council of California’s Mobile Dairy Classroom Assembly celebrated World School Milk Day at Farragut Elementary with over 500 students. The original farm-to-school program that free Mobile milk classroom Assembly originated in Southern California in the 1930’s and has a unique way of teaching students where their food comes from – by bringing a real cow to the students. Efrain Valenzuela, director of the Mobile Dairy Classroom Program and a native of Southern California, says, “Our free, interactive assembly is always a hit with students, many of whom have never seen a cow in person. Teaching kids where their food comes from is incredibly rewarding. Having grown up in the Los Angeles area, I can relate to so many of the students we interact with each school year.”
