When buying a home, the first step is to pre-qualify or be pre-approved for a mortgage. But there is a difference between the two.
Pre-qualification is a simple process of estimating how much someone could borrow based on their financial information. Pre-approval is a more in-depth process that gives a more accurate idea of how much people can borrow.
When someone is starting their home buying process, pre-qualification can give them a general idea of their creditworthiness. But if they’re further along in the process and have found a home they want to bid on, pre-approval gives them more assurance that their loan will be approved.
In any case, pre-qualifying or pre-approving a mortgage is a smart first step when buying a home. Knowing how much house they can afford can help someone and give sellers confidence that someone is a serious buyer.
No matter the situation, there is always a solution. Yolanda says, “My role is to educate, advocate and be a team member on this journey. Doing my best is the standard and the result you strive for is the expectation!”
