That Dogecoins DOGE/USD was created in 2013 by Jackson Palmer and Bill Markus as a joke based on a popular meme depicting a Shiba Inu.
The crypto coin has subsequently gained a lot of popularity Tesla Inc TSLA chairman Elon Musk‘s endorsement of the meme coin as his favorite cryptocurrency.
Dogecoin has given way to more meme coins such as Shiba Inu SHIB/USD, Dogelon Mars ELON/USDand Floki Inu FLOKI/USDand many more.
In a tweet, Markus, who goes by the pseudonym Shibetoshi Nakamoto on Twitter, outlined how he would like the Dogecoin community to embrace the cryptocurrency.
here is my wish for dogecoin:
– People actually use it for something beyond pump and dump bullshit, so it has a reason to exist
– The community understands what crypto is and what the crypto market is and knows that it’s all kind of stupid and enjoys it
that’s all

Markus also urged people to keep working on the meme coin to add more utility and security. Elon Musk responded and suggested that Dogecoin should function more like a currency.

Speaking about Dogecoin, Markus said he created DOGE as a “satire” to show “how many stupid coins there are”.
$doge: made 8 years ago as a satire on the cryptocurrency scene and how many dumb coins there are, at a time when the scene was taking itself super seriously. became popular nonetheless. Founders hardly did anything.
Current “meme” coins: made to make founders rich.
we are not the same
