After a month delay Elon Musk-LED neural links Last week the “Show & Tell” event took place. During the event, Musk said the company’s goal is to create a “whole-brain interface,” and in less than six months Neuralink will have its first device in a human.
speaking at the eventMusk said he would be comfortable implanting a chip developed by Neuralink in the brain of one of his children, should the need arise.
He answered a question about safety issues with Neuralink devices when actively implanted in a brain.
“If you ask a question like, in my opinion, I would be comfortable implanting this in one of my children at this point or something, if they have a serious problem, like broken necks, I would I feel like I would do it,” Musk said.
“I would say we’re at a point where I think it would be at least safe,” he added.
Musk said the company is not “cautious” about putting devices in animals and tests are done beforehand. However, he noted that Neuralink’s tests are “confirmative and not exploratory.”

Musk joked that he could have a device implanted without anyone knowing about it.
At the event, Musk demonstrated brain-computer interface technology by showing a video of a monkey fitted with a Neuralink brain chip.
Neuralink is Musk’s brain chip company. Last year the company presented a macaque play a video game with his thoughts.
The startup has turned itself in allegations of animal crueltyto which it responded that Neuralink “is not unique in this regard”.
Controversial author and clinical psychologist Jordan Peterson is skeptical of Musk’s innovation.
Peterson tweeted Thursday, “Jesus Elon I hope you know what you are doing.”
Musk responded, saying that compared to artificial intelligence, Neuralink will be “slow and easy to evaluate because there’s a lot of regulation Apparatus for the approval of medical devices.”
