Microsoft Corporation MSFT increases new prices Xbox Games from $60 to $70 from 2023.

What happened: Games built for Xbox Series X|Sincluding Forza Motorsport, redfall and starfieldwill cost $69.99 at launch, reported IGN.

The games will be available as part of Microsoft’s subscription service, game passfor a monthly premium of $9.99 on Windows and Xbox consoles.

“This award reflects the content, scope and technical complexity of these titles,” a Microsoft spokesperson told IGN.

Xbox has indicated regional pricing may vary, but so far there have been no details for other countries.

Microsoft did not immediately respond gasoline gas Request for comments.

Why it matters: With this $10 price increase, Microsoft is following in the footsteps of its gaming competitors Ubisoft Entertainment S.A UBSFY, Sony Group Corp. SONY and Take Two Interactive Software Inc. TTWO.

Ubisoft, Sony and Take-Two Interactive have already announced $70 price increases for some new games. Sony is reportedly discussing a much higher price hike, the report said.
