What happened?: Atsuko Satothe Japanese kindergarten teacher who saved Kabosu shared the disturbing news in an Instagram post on Monday.

Atsuko has assured her followers that the popular pup “will be absolutely fine” and “is getting power from around the world.”

The co-founder of Dogecoin, Bill Markusasks for love, prayers and good vibes for Satō and Kabosu as Kabosu has been unwell since Christmas Eve and refuses to eat or drink.

Although Shiba Inu dogs typically have an average lifespan of 12 to 15 years, Kabosu is celebrated her 17th birthday in 2022. Their popularity grew after Satō’s 2010 blog post that inspired the viral “doge” meme format.

What started as a joke in 2013 when Markus u Jackson Palmer created the first “meme coin” Dogecoin has now become a popular cryptocurrency. Also ether ETH/USD founder Vitalik Buterin visited Kabosu and Satō at their Tokyo apartment in 2018, thereby confirming Kabosu’s place in the story.
