US stocks traded higher towards the end of trade on the release of inflation data.
The Dow was up 0.72% to 34,219.27, while the NASDAQ was up 0.63% to 11,000.65. The S&P 500 was also up 0.50% to 3,989.56.

Leading and lagging sectors
Energy stocks gained 2.1% on Thursday. Meanwhile top winner in the sector included KLX Energy Services Holdings, Inc. KLXEincreased by 10% and NGL Energy Partners LP NGLincreased by 11%.
In Thursday trading, consumer staples stocks fell 0.6%.

The consumer price index in the United States fell 0.1% mom in December. Annual inflation slowed to 6.5% in December for the sixth straight month, the lowest level since October 2021.

- shares of Akerna Corp. CORE got a boost, soaring 75% to $1.69 after the company announced the sale of 365 cannabis for $2.8 million.
- BigBear.ai Holdings, Inc. BBAI Shares were also higher, gaining 230% to $2.7750 after the company announced it had received a $900 million indefinite supply/unspecified quantity order from the US Air Force.
Stocks are trading down
- Oramed Pharmaceuticals Inc. ORMP Shares fell 77% to $2.5101 after the company announced that the ORA-D-013-1 study failed to meet its primary endpoint.
- shares of KNOT Offshore Partners LP BUTTON fell 38% to $6.54 after Alliance Global Partners downgraded the stock to sell from buy and announced a price target of $6.
- Logitech International SA LOGI was down, falling 17% to $56.58 after the company reported preliminary third-quarter net sales results below guidance and reduced its FY23 outlook.
