COO Mark Crutcher is promoted to CEO of LDI

Gary Horton, President of Landscape Development, Inc. is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark J. Crutcher as Chief Executive Officer. Mark Crutcher succeeds Gary Horton, who has served as CEO since the company’s inception in 1983.

Valencia, CA January 14, 2023 –(PR.com)– Gary Horton, Chairman of the Board of Landscape Development, Inc. is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark J. Crutcher as Chief Executive Officer. Mark Crutcher succeeds Gary Horton, who has served as CEO since the company’s inception in 1983.

Mark joined Landscape Development, Inc. in 2016 as COO, leading the company’s strategic direction of remarkable growth, market diversification and increased profitability. Process improvement and leadership development are Mark’s outstanding achievements during his tenure at LDI. Mr. Crutcher says, “The best way to provide our clients with a ‘Seace of Mind’ service is to ensure we hire and develop the best talent in the industry.”

During Mark Crutcher’s tenure as COO, LDI grew revenues from approximately $50 million in 2016 to $143 million in 2022. Headcount increased by 700 hires to over 1,200 today.

Before joining Landscape Development, Mark was a vice president at Valley Crest Companies for ten years overseeing supply chain, fleet and real estate in the United States. Prior to entering the landscape industry, Mark held leadership positions in high tech sales and manufacturing.
