A recently released court filing brought this to light Metaplatforms Inc. META CEO Mark Zuckerberg was warned about the problem of social media addiction among teenagers.
What happened: According to court records, Meta and Tick tockparent company of ByteDance Employees were aware of the detrimental impact of their social media platforms on young children and adolescents, reported Bloomberg.
The filing says Zuckerberg was personally warned about this, but the companies chose to ignore the information and, in some cases, attempted to undermine it.

The revelations came in a previously filed social media addiction lawsuit that sealed key parts from the public. In an unedited version filed in Oakland, California, over the weekend, the federal court provided some details.
The meta spokesman said the statement that the company defunded Labor to support user welfare was incorrect.
