After the massive hype about “Cocaine Bear” Wide-Eye Releasea B-movie production company, announced the release of “Cocaine Shark,” a film about… you guessed it: killer sharks run on drugs.

The film is directed Markus Poloniawho has also worked on titles like Sharkula and Shark Land – we’re beginning to see a pattern here – and will be released digitally and on DVD on July 7th.

Written by Bret McCormick, the mastermind behind “The Abomination” and “Repligator,” “Cocaine Shark” features a cast led by Ken VanSantknown for his roles in “Queen Crab” and “Jurassic Prey” and Titus Himmelbergerwho acted in “Amityville in Space”.

“A mafia drug lord has released a new, highly addictive stimulant called HT25, derived from sharks held captive in a secret lab, that causes monstrous side effects. After an explosion and a leak in the lab, an army of mutated, bloodthirsty sharks and other creatures are unleashed upon the world.

Back in February, social media users were inspired by a news story about New Zealand authorities intercepting 3.2 tons of cocaine in the Pacific Ocean and suggested the idea of ​​a film called “Cocaine Shark”. When asked about the possibility of taking on another project with an animal on drugs, the director of “Cocaine Bear” said. Elizabeth Banks expressed their interest.

“If there’s a great story, sure,” Banks told People Magazine. “Jaws with cocaine? I don’t see how that loses.”

Given Banks’ enthusiasm and the success of “Cocaine Bear,” it’s no surprise that the announcement of the release of “Cocaine Shark” has sparked such excitement among fans of unconventional cinema.
