What Happened: IFC Films has released the first trailer for BlackBerry, a biopic about the rise and fall of the eponymous smartphone and the world’s first – and it looks like it’s going to be a wild ride.
The trailer features Jay Baruchel as Mike Lazaridis, Matt Johnson (also the director) than Doug Frenin And Glen Howerton as Jim Balsillie.
It takes viewers on a rollercoaster ride of a constant battle between the developers and a businessman as they have different priorities.
Eventually, things went well for the BlackBerry team and the company conquered the world with smartphone innovations. However, things quickly faded when Apple released the iPhone and authorities began investigating possible fraud.
For techies and movie lovers, this trailer looks promising to say the least. The film opens in cinemas on May 12th.

Why it matters: Apple first introduced the iPhone on January 9, 2007 at Mac World in San Francisco. The company presented the latest version of the popular smartphone in September 2022 the iphone 14 and should start iPhone 15 in September later this year.
