GOP politicians have taken to social media to vent their anger after reports suggested it former president donald trump will be charged on Tuesday.
Trump warned of this last week potential “death & destruction” if he were prosecuted in the hush money payment investigation. He attacked the Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Brag and other state and federal prosecutors investigating him in Washington, DC and Georgia.
A Manhattan Grand jury indicted Trump for his alleged role in a $130,000 hush money payment to an adult film actress Stormy Daniels that is Trump’s attorney at the time Michael Kohen made just before the 2016 presidential election.
Shortly after the news broke, Trump’s attorney issued a statement on the matter, saying, “A former President, a current candidate, and my friend President Donald J. Trump are victims of a corrupt and distorted version of the American legal system and history . He will be confirmed.”

Republicans on Capitol Hill, including Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene and Rep. Lauren Boebert, also defend Trump.
Greene, for example, took to Twitter on Friday and called for protests against the “witch hunt.”
In another tweet, Greene attacked the Biden administration, accusing it of arresting “its political enemies” on a daily basis.
Similar, bobert tweeted, urging people to fight “to save America.”
Sen. Lindsey Graham also chimed in on Twitter, saying Trump “should break some windows” and “rob some stores” so he could be released.
