donald trump has shared a letter written to him by his predecessor, Richard Nixons35 years ago who made a prophecy.

What happened: The December 21, 1987 letter mentioned Trump’s appearance on The Donahue Show. Nixon said although he did not see the show, his wife, former First Lady Pat Nixondid.

Nixon shared a prediction Pat made in the letter. He wrote, “She’s an expert on politics, and she predicts that if you decide to run for office, you’ll be a winner!”

Trump shared the letter in a post truth social Advertisement for his book “Letters to Trump”. He said, “President Richard Nixon wrote to me that if I choose to run for office, I will be victorious.”

Why it matters: Recently Nixon era White House advice John Dean expressed the hope that the Stormy Daniels court hearing will be televised.

Trump has been arrested and charged in the Daniels affair, which relates to the payment of $130,000 in hush money to the adult film actor.

The Nixon-era White House attorney said the televised trials were necessary because there was a “rule of law” issue.

Dean said at the time: “It’s very hard to look at Watergate without looking through Trump’s lens where it hasn’t worked or hasn’t worked yet. It’s not over yet. If Trump gets through without accountability, then the system is deeply flawed and much of that is likely due to the Ford pardon.”
