Tesla Rival Li Auto April Sales Up A Stunning 560% To Over 25,000 –…

Chinese manufacturer of electric vehicles and Tesla, Inc TSLA rival LiAuto Inc LI reported monthly shipments in excess of 20,000 for the second straight month due to rising popularity Li L7 SUV.

What happened: Li Auto delivered 25,681 vehicles in April, up 516.3% year-on-year and 23% compared to March. The numbers surpass those of Li Delivery record in March setting a new monthly record of 20,823 units.

“We are pleased to have shipped over 10,000 Li L7s in its first full month of deliveries, establishing the vehicle as the preferred choice among five-seat premium SUVs for Chinese families, while also marking the first time a five-seat SUV from the Chinese brand has a Price of over RMB 300,000 has reached this monthly delivery milestone,” said Li Auto Chairman and CEO Xiang Li in an opinion.

Li Auto expects to be launched in 100 cities across China by the end of the year. The company also expects to add a super flagship, five EREVs and five HPC BEVs to its product portfolio by 2025.

Why it matters: The Li L7 is a flagship five-seat SUV that was launched in February. The model is available in three configurations – Li L7 Air, Li L7 Pro and Li L7 Max priced at RMB 319,800, RMB 339,800 and RMB 379,800 respectively.

In the first quarter, Li Auto’s first-quarter deliveries rose 65.8% year-on-year to 52,584 units, hitting the low end of the company’s guidance range of 52,000 to 55,000 units. In the first quarter, Tesla’s China-made vehicle sales totaled 229,322, up 25.9% year over year.
