WEST JORDAN, UT, May 24, 2023 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Sportsman’s Warehouse Holdings, Inc. SPWH, www.sportsmans.comannounced today that their annual Maintain the Terrain cleanups will take place in May and August this year.
In addition to supporting groups such as Ducks Unlimited, the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, the Mule Deer Foundation and the National Wild Turkey Federation and following the principles of the Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics in partnership with the US Forest Service and National Parks Service and the Maintain the Terrain events are part of Sportsman’s Warehouse commitment to protecting the environment.
To kick off the third year of Maintain the Terrain events, each Sportsman’s Warehouse location is organizing a cleanup in the local communities where they do business. Store associates spend a weekend morning meeting with local volunteers at a variety of outdoor locations including lakes, rivers, campgrounds, shooting ranges, hunting grounds and parks. Participants of all ages then dispersed and collected debris for several hours. The waste is then taken to the local landfill or recycled as appropriate.
“In 2022, over 1,000 volunteers at 122 locations participated in a total of 185 individual events in the communities they serve,” said Jason Shriver, Sportsman’s Warehouse Regional Manager. “Participants cleared approximately 80 to 100 tonnes of trash and debris, and we look forward to helping preserve even more of nature’s natural beauty with the 280 Maintain the Terrain events planned this year.”
Everyone is invited to attend upcoming Maintain the Terrain events. For more information, volunteers can contact their local Sportsman’s Warehouse office at www.sportsmans.com.
