WINNIPEG, Manitoba, May 25, 2023 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — The 2023 Skills Canada National Competition (SCNC) opened today at the RBC Convention Center in Winnipeg. Skills/Compétences Canada (SCC) will be livestreaming the event for the second time this year. Viewers can catch the opening and closing ceremonies, highlights from attendees from different skill areas on-site, interviews and much more! The live stream will include competition footage and on-site interviews with partners, alumni, members of the National Technical Committee and National Board.
SCC will be distributing a video of the live stream highlights at the end of each day of competition today and tomorrow. Media can download the video clip from day one Here and edit it to include the footage that interests them. This video features content from each of the six sectors and participants from each province and territory. All content of the live stream footage is also available on The SCC YouTube channel. The cue sheet is also attached.
SCNC is the only national, cross-industry and technology competition for students and trainees in the country. The aim of the competition is to encourage students and trainees to excel in their chosen profession or technology and to create awareness of the many incredible career opportunities available to young people. The SCNC 2023 will feature more than 550 participants from across Canada who will compete in 45 craft and technology competitions.
