District Attorney of Manhattan Alvin Bragg sent an email to his staff after the former president donald trump he said on social media expected to be arrested in an investigation related to a hush money payment to a porn star Stormy Daniels.
What happened: Bragg said in the email that his office “will not tolerate attempts to intimidate our office or threaten the rule of law in New York.” reported Politically.
He said his office is coordinating with him New York Police Department and with the court to “ensure that any specific or credible threats against the office are fully investigated and that the proper safeguards are put in place to ensure that all 1,600 of us have a safe work environment.”
Trump called on his supporters to “protest to take back our nation” in the Truth Social post.
Why it matters: The prosecutor said his office will “continue to apply the law equitably and fairly and only speak publicly when appropriate,” Politico reported.
The email reportedly did not name Trump, only alluding to “public comments regarding an ongoing investigation by this office.”
Trump said on Truth Social on Saturday that a “leading Republican candidate and former President of the United States will be arrested next Tuesday.”
