apple inc AAPL sells a $330 lock on its website that allows a user to unlock their front door with just a tap iPhone or smart watch.

What happened: The Level Lock+ with Home Key support is available from Apple for $329.95.

That Tim cook-led company says the locking accessory allows users to “even ask Siri to lock or unlock” with just their voice.

Alternatively, according to Apple, the unlock function can be activated via the Home app. The lock also comes with programmable key cards and regular unlocking keys.

Users can add people to their Home app and share “Home Keys” with them through their Wallet app.

Installation is “simple” according to Apple, and the Level Lock+ replaces a standard American deadbolt.

Why it matters: Statista figures show that the global market for smart doorbells and digital door locks will grow “steadily” over the next few years and will reach a turnover of more than US$14 billion by 2026.

It was reported by earlier this month Markus Gurmann that the new level with HomeKey had already landed in the warehouses of the Apple Stores.”

The Apple-focused journalist had responded to a 9to5Mac tweet reporting that Level has Home no integration plans its smart locks with Apple Home Key.

Level Lock+ is available in two colors – Satin Nickel and Matte Black. The box contains 2 keys, 2 key cards (NFC) and installation material, including a CR2032 battery.

Level said in a statement that the Lock+’s matte black finish will only be available online, while the satin nickel version can be purchased in stores and online.
