That Craftsmanship of Zuri The Institute of Art and Science is the first and only in the US to focus heavily on the scientific principles of PMU. Their training courses are strategically designed to teach you the high-level content that will actually make you a great artist. They take you beyond tactical skill and not only show you how, but why.
The Science of Permanent Makeup master class is perfect for anyone wanting to learn the art of permanent makeup. Part 1 of the 6 part series is now available to enhance your artistry and bridge the gap between the services we provide and the underlying scientific principles.
This course covers a range of topics including the physics of tattoos, how to achieve optimal saturation with the least amount of trauma, pigment chemistry and more. Founder Zuri is a lifelong lover of makeup. In 2018 she expanded her services to include semi-permanent makeup and has since received multiple certifications in this field. Zuri’s artistic eye coupled with an attention to detail has allowed her to progress in the world of traditional and semi-permanent makeup.
An avid learner, Zuri holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Texas Southern University and two master’s degrees from Texas A&M University. Her goal is to make every client look their best, with an emphasis on skin integrity and stable healing work.
A licensed tattoo artist in the state of Texas, Zuri was a 2019 PMU Women of Color Award recipient of Best New Artist, 2022 SHEEO of the Year, and 2022 Best Speaker in Science of Permanent Makeup Awards featured in Essence Magazine, Sheen Magazine, BET + and more.
