Elon MuskTwitter will be holding an auction at the end of the year to get rid of some of the surplus items in his San Francisco office.
The items in the auction are listed on the BidSpotter website under the heading “Online Auction Sale Featuring Surplus Corporate Office Assets of Twitter”. reports Wealth.
Twitter will sell kitchenware, electronics, furniture, and memorabilia online, and the bid prices will be $25 and $50.
Bidding will begin at 7:00 am PT on January 17, 2023 and end at 10:00 am PT on January 18, according to BidSpotter.
There are different types of office chairs, cabinets, espresso makers, iMacs, coffee grinders, tilting steam kettles, pizza makers, electric ranges, ovens, freezers, portable warming cabinets, ice makers, deep fryers, laser projectors and more items that have been put up for sale.
In an interview with Fortune, Nick TaubePresident of Heritage Global Partners (HGP), the company running the auction, said the sell-off had nothing to do with Twitter’s finances.
“They sold for 44 billion and we’re selling a few chairs, desks and computers,” Dove told the outlet.
“So if anyone really thinks that the proceeds from selling a couple of computers and chairs are going to pay for that mountain there, then they’re an idiot,” he said.
Musk wants to cut the company’s costs, not only because Twitter is facing a high burn rate, but also because he has to pay back the $13 billion in debt he incurred for the acquisition.
Twitter reported a net loss of $270 million for the second quarter ended June 30, 2022 compared to a Profit of $66 million in the same period last year.
