president Joe Bidenin a conversation with India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi, welcomed Air India’s deal to buy over 200 American-made planes from Boeing.
What happened: Biden spoke to Modi on Tuesday about the “historic” deal with Air India Boeing Co B.Awhich he said will support over a million American jobs in 44 states.
Biden while announcing the Contract between Boeing and Air Indiaassured that together with PM Modi he looks forward to deepening the ties between the two countries.

The White House said under the agreement, Boeing will supply Air India with 190 B737 MAX, 20 B787 and 10 B777X for a total of 220 firm orders worth US$34 billion at list price. The deal also includes customer options for an additional 50 Boeing 737 MAX and 20 Boeing 787, totaling 290 aircraft for a total of $45.9 billion at list price.
The Air India order is Boeing’s third-biggest sale ever by value and second-biggest by number of aircraft.
Meanwhile, the British Prime Minister also praised Air India’s deal to buy 250 Air India aircraft airbus EADSF. The deal includes the purchase of 40 widebody A350s and 210 narrowbody A320s.
Rishi Sunak said the “groundbreaking deal” will create “better paying jobs and new opportunities in manufacturing hubs from Derby to Wales” so Britain can “grow the economy and support our agenda to reach higher levels”.
