president Joe Bidens Physician Kevin O’Connor said in a memo on Thursday that he was “fit for duty” and “strong.”
What happened: O’Connor, who is also an associate professor at The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, said that Biden “remains a healthy, vigorous 80-year-old man capable of successfully carrying out the duties of the presidency.”
The doctor noted current “medical considerations” including atrial fibrillation, hyperlipidemia, gastroesophageal reflux, allergies, spinal arthritis and mild neuropathy of the feet.
According to the memo, Biden takes three common prescription drugs and two common over-the-counter drugs.
Why it matters: Biden is the oldest President of the United States to have medical tests performed on him Walter Reed National Military Medical Center found no evidence of stroke, multiple sclerosis, or Parkinson’s disease.
