When asked about the prime minister’s position on this issue, he said Modi did not “deny” (caste census) and listened to everyone’s opinions.

He said that the caste-based census will help to effectively formulate various development plans.

Yadav strongly expressed his support, saying that this would be a “historic” measure to help the poor.

He said that if animals and trees can be counted, so can people.

When asked whether Kumar’s JD(U) and RJD are getting closer and closer to working together on this issue, Yadav said that Bihar’s opposition has always supported the government’s measures to take people-friendly and national interests.
