Blast hits key Crimean bridge, Russian officials investigate…

An explosion damaged the Kerch Bridge connecting Russia and Russia on Saturday the Crimean peninsula paralyzes the critics Supply route for Russian forces in Ukraine.

Corresponding Reuters, a massive fire and thick smoke were seen on the strategic road and railway bridge. The bridge was the only road connection from mainland Russia to the Black Sea Peninsula.

Although the exact cause of the explosion has yet to be determined, the Russian investigative committee has mentioned that the explosion took place in a truck and fuel tankers caught fire. Officials said at least three people were killed in the blast.

This is reported by the Russian state medium TASS President Vladimir Putin has ordered a “government commission” to consider the “emergency” of the Kerch bridge in Crimea.

Spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova has said that “the reaction of the Kiev regime to the destruction of civilian infrastructure testifies to its terrorist nature”.

Russian authorities rushed to the site of the blast to reopen one lane of the bridge to motor traffic with security checks.

Bloomberg reports that the vehicle’s registered owner was from the Krasnodar region of Russia.

Meanwhile, the Russian Defense Ministry has appointed a new commander for all of its forces in Ukraine.

In 2018, Putin opened the bridge by driving a Kamaz truck at the head of a motorcade.
