workers at Flora Terra from Santa Rosa have voted to join the Teamsters Local 665. They are the first group of cannabis workers to join the Teamsters under the California Agricultural Labor Relations Act in Northern California.
“Congratulations to our newest members for staying strong and working together to make this happen,” he said Tony DelorioLocal 665 chief officer in a press release Wednesday.
“California farm workers have already enjoyed great wages, strong benefits and a unified voice at work with a Teamster contract. We don’t expect it to be any different with this company when we start negotiations,” added Delorio.
“Cannabis generates more revenue in California than any other state in the country,” noted Peter Finn, Head of Teamsters Food Processing Division. “We look forward to ensuring that a fair share of the money made from this industry goes to those most responsible for the success of these companies.”

“Across the cannabis industry, a new generation of workers are discovering that true unions play a critical role in properly balancing the needs of workers, communities and employers,” he added SamFerraino, Jr., UFCW Local 360 President. “This vote is not only a sign of support for the unions’ pledge to make a positive impact on businesses, families and communities, it is also a statement of support for high operating standards and a diverse and skilled workforce with good working conditions.”
