CATL and ZEEKR sign five-year strategic cooperation agreement to…

NINGDE, China, August 27, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — To 27.8, CATL and ZEEKR jointly announced ZEEKR as the first car brand powered by mass-produced Qilin batteries. ZEEKR 009 will be the world’s first car with Qilin inside, and ZEEKR 001 will be the world’s first model equipped with Qilin batteries with a range of 1,000 km. The two companies have entered into a five-year strategic partnership and, based on intensive cooperation, have agreed to strengthen the interplay of supply and demand to drive the technological advancement of the new energy industry.

Qilin batteries are based on CATL’s third generation CTP technology. With a record-breaking volume use efficiency of 72% and an energy density of up to 255 Wh/kg, it achieves the highest level of system integration worldwide with a range of over 1,000 km. In addition, Qilin supports a hot start in 5th generation by introducing the pioneering large-area cell cooling technology protocol and quick charge in 10 minutes. With the same chemistry and pack size, it can deliver 13% more power than the 4680 battery, achieving an all-round improvement in range, fast charging, safety, lifespan, efficiency and low temperature performance.

Taking into account market demand and user experience, Qilin batteries can fully showcase their energy efficiency with the support of the open and leading Sustainable Experience Architecture (SAE), and provide a perfect all-electric driving solution. Models with Qilin inside free customers from worrying about range, charging and safety of EV batteries, giving them a comfortable driving experience.
