consumer reports, a non-profit organization that conducts independent testing and research, and advocacy, recently released its ranking of 32 car brands based on overall results their models.
Top awards for BMW: Traditional German car manufacturer BMW AG BMWJJ was ranked as the number one car brand with an overall score of 81.
The criteria Consumer Reports uses to evaluate and compile the overall score included road test performance, reliability, owner satisfaction and safety. A brand’s overall score is based on the average of all models tested.
BMW moved up two places to take the crown from last year’s leader and Japanese automaker Subaru. Subaru is currently in second place with 79 points.
BMW’s MINI brand came in third Toyota Motor Corp TM Luxury brand Lexus and Honda Motor Corp. HMC finished fourth and fifth.
The Toyota brand and Those of the Hyundai Motor Company HYMTF Luxury brand Genesis took sixth and seventh place with 76 points each. Consumer Reports noted that Genesis made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving up 12 positions due to its improved reliability.
Mazda Motor Corp. MZTAGwhich was still in second place in 2022, fell back to eighth place in 2023. of Volkswagen AG VWAGY Hyundai’s Audi and Kia completed the top ten in ninth and tenth with 74 and 73 points respectively.
Among the brands squeezed out of the top 10 were Porsche and Nissan Motor Co NSANIE Infiniti brand.
Ford Motor Company f The Lincoln brand climbed 10 places due to reliability and additional safety systems.
Tesla improved show: Giant for electric vehicles Tesla, Inc. TSLA improved from 23rd place in 2022 to 17th place. The EV maker also saw an improvement in the overall score from 60 to 66.
