“Crisis is time to act” – Skyline Group of Companies starts…

Guelph, Ontario, Canada, Dec. 08, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — The Skyline Group of Companies, a Guelph, Ontario-based asset acquisition, management, development and investment firm, has a Video highlighting a 32 unit permanent supportive housing development as a prime example of how government, community organizations and private companies can come together to help solve Canada’s homeless crisis.

At the beginning of the year, federal, provincial, district and city officials celebrated the groundbreaking ceremony for the development together with the project partners. Kindle Communities, Skyline group of companiesand the Guelph Community Health Center (Guelph CHC).

“The crisis is a time for action and as rental housing providers we at Skyline have a responsibility to respond to the current housing crisis we are facing in Guelph and across the country,” he said R Jason AshdownCo-Founder and Chief Sustainability Officer, Skyline Group of Companies.

“Private companies need to partner with all levels of government and community organizations to drive and own the solution. This project offers not only an accessible housing option, but also the comprehensive support needed to help residents live fully and independently.”

Permanent Supportive Housing is an evidence-based and cost-effective solution for people who are chronically homeless due to long-term disabilities.

“Everyone deserves safe housing. No matter who you are in the community, you deserve a chance to create a better future for yourself,” said Lloyd Longfield, MP, Guelph, at the event. The federal government has contributed $2.6 million to the project through its National Housing Strategy.

Hon. Steve Clark, Ontario Secretary of Municipal Affairs and Housing, announced that the province would contribute an additional $3 million to fund the project.
