Tesla Inc TSLA now uses gigantic gigapress Machines to make his most popular car, the Model Y This process has many advantages including reduced weight, fewer parts and lower production costs.
Tesla also plans to use this technique more widely to produce the much-anticipated Cybertruck.
As Sawyer Merrit tweeted, the 9,000-ton Gigapress used for Cybertruck production is on its way to Texas. The company that makes this huge machine, IDRA, posted a picture of the machine saying “packed and ready to go!”.

While it seems that the COVID-19 pandemic has slowed things down for the Cybertruck, which was first unveiled in 2019, Tesla CEO Elon Musk recently said he will start driving his Beta Cybertruck soon, production and first deliveries are planned for mid-2023.
