The debate over when, how, and who will finally legalize and/or decriminalize cannabis at the federal level has heated up in recent months, although it has been going on for decades. Proponents had hoped Congress would pull a rabbit out of a hat. Some hoped that President Biden would finally put his pen to work to put an end to policies that a growing majority of the country disagrees with.
With cannabis being legal in some form in more than half of the country, there are some who are considering the idea of legalizing all drugs, including cocaine.
Elon Musk gets involved
Drug legalization is managed by Tesla Inc. TSLA and Twitter CEO Elon Musk, who appears to believe that banning drugs isn’t the way to go. Using alcohol as an example, Musk called the ban a “stupid” decision that contributed to the rise in crime in America.
However, according to The Street, Musk made it clear that in his response to an exchange on the Whole Mars Catalog Twitter page, he neither condoned cocaine nor advocated drugs. “I’m not advocating drugs, but I’m saying that the evidence suggests their prohibition is a net societal negative,” Musk said.

Musk was in the past soon about psychedelic drugs and is not afraid to talk about its advantages. He has also supported the legalization of cannabis.
The billionaire shared a chart with a friend showing that MDMA and psychedelic mushrooms are healthier than drinking alcohol, according to the friend who shared the story The New York Times.
The Times also reported that Musk has attended almost every Burning Man festival over the past 20 years, usually with his younger brother Kimbal Musk and a friend he met there.
“I was on light scouting with him,” said David Marglin, a Bay Area attorney who met Musk at Burning Man. “And he appreciates the value of these trips. Nothing out of control or wild, but it’s all night and there’s dancing and feasting.”
