Musk’s comments about turning OpenAI into a for-profit company might not be far-fetched, as OpenAI said in a 2019 post on its website that it has formed OpenAI LP, a new “capped profit” company that will accelerate investments in computers and talent would enable.

Microsoft has invested $10 billion in OpenAI to integrate its technology with its Bing search engine and cloud services.
