Welcome to the family, Y! In a surprising revelation last year dirt reveals that she and Tesla Inc TSLA CEO Elon Musk secretly gave birth to their second child together.

What happened: The singer whose real name is called Claire Boucher, said Vanity Fair that she and Musk welcomed their new daughter, Exa Dark Sideræl (nicknamed Y), as a surrogate.

In a new Twitter post last month, Grimes revealed that Exa Dark is now just “Y” or “Why?” or even just a question mark.

“She’s now Y or ‘Why?’ or just ‘?’ (But the government won’t recognize that). Curiosity, the eternal question, … and stuff,” Grimes said via tweet.

Even stranger was the way the child was initially announced. Vanity Fair spotted the news during an interview for a cover story for the magazine’s April 2022 issue.

The Vanity Fair reporter heard the screams of an infant upstairs shortly after arriving at Grime’s house for the interview.

“And I can tell from the frozen expression on my host’s face that she heard it too. So I prepare to ask the strangest question of my career: Got another baby in your life, Grimes?” said the story.

Grimes looked “shattered” after the question. “I don’t know what I was thinking,” Grimes said as she withheld the news from her daughter.

Grimes also has an almost 2-year-old son X Æ A-12 (nicknamed X) with Musk. She revealed the news of her first pregnancy via an Instagram post showing her belly in January 2020. It wasn’t until May 2020 that she revealed Musk was the father.

Grimes and Musk split in September 2021.

“We’re semi-broken up, but we still love each other, see each other often and get along well,” Musk said at the time.

Vanity Fair asked Grimes about her relationship status with the Tesla boss.
