SpaceX’s Starship spacecraft and Super Heavy rocket – collectively referred to as the Starship – is a fully reusable transport system that aims to deliver both crew and cargo to “Earth Orbit, to the Moon, to Mars and Beyond.”

It was released for the start on Friday until Federal Flight Administration (FAA), the government agency responsible for licensing commercial missile launches.

Musk’s message“I really want to lower expectations here as much as possible,” Musk said in a Twitter Space subscriber session, according to a user who posted a recording. “Success is not what you should expect tomorrow. That would be crazy.”

He also talked about the Soviet N1 missile, which Musk says is the closest missile to Starship. The N1 never completed a test flight and all four launches failed prior to first stage separation.

Musk has repeatedly reiterated that excitement is guaranteed at launch, although success is far from certain.

“With such a test, success will be measured by how much we can learn, which will inform and improve the likelihood of success in the future as SpaceX rapidly advances Starship development,” SpaceX said on its website.

SpaceX further added that the test schedule is dynamic and likely to change.

“Weather is looking pretty good for tomorrow morning but we’re keeping an eye on wind shear,” SpaceX tweeted Sunday.
