TEsla Inc TSLA chairman Elon Musk does not undergo a national security clearance, a White House a spokesman said on Monday.
What happened: White House Press Secretary Karine Jean Pierre made the comments in response to a reporter’s question at a news conference.
Jean-Pierre was asked to comment on whether Musk was “undergoing some sort of national scrutiny.”
She said the reports of one such review were “not true” but the White House had heard about it.
“I really don’t have anything more to say about this article either – about (sic) Elon Musk and what he decides to do and not do. I won’t say more from here.”

Why it matters: A White House official is said to have previously referred to Musk “Elon the Everywhere” and questioned his recent “freelance diplomacy.”
Musk came under flak for propose peace plans between Ukraine and Russia, which have been engaged in an armed conflict for more than half a year.
The businessman also shared his views on the China-Taiwan conflict rejected by a top diplomat from the self-governing island earlier this month.
