Tesla, Inc. TSLA Managing Director Elon Musk has made green energy a focus of its business endeavors. His EV project is a testament to his commitment to protecting the environment. Musk said in a tweet on Friday that he sees solar energy as the primary energy source for humanity in the future.

His comments came as a tweet quoting a graphic shared by World of Engineers that says there is enough space in the Sahara Desert alone to power the world with solar energy.

Musk has expressed similar opinions in the past. In an October 2020 tweet, he suggested that the free fusion reactor in the sky, an obvious indication of solar energy, is converting about four million tons of mass into energy every second. Only an extremely small amount of this energy needs to be captured to power the entire civilization, he added.

During Tesla’s fourth-quarter earnings call last January, Musk suggested that the company would accelerate this solar and energy storage business in 2022.

Tesla closed Friday’s session down 3.12% at $696.69, while the stock was up 1.91% at $710 after the close Gasoline Pro.
