Tesla Inc CEO Elon Musk reiterated that he would like a “normal” person to become US President.

What happened: Elon Musk was asked by a CNBC host if he regretted having voted for the incumbent President. In response, the tech mogul said, “I wish we could just have a normal human being for president.”

“That’s what I want,” Musk said after a deep sigh.

“You know, there’s an old saying: we’re better off if we happen to be wronged by people in the phone book than by the Harvard faculty.”

The moderator also asked the billionaire if he was comfortable with President Biden. Musk replied, “Some of those leadership qualities are underappreciated. Indeed, since the president is effectively the leader of the country, whether he is a good leader is important. It’s not just about whether he shares your beliefs. But is he good at getting things done? There are many decisions that need to be made every day. Many of these have nothing to do with moral beliefs.”

Why it matters: Musk and Biden share a frosty relationship. In December 2021, the billionaire entrepreneur slammed the president by proposing a maximum age limit of 18 70 for people running for political office. Nonetheless, Musk announced that he voted for Biden at the last election. Musk also describes himself as moderate and expresses his support for both Democrats and Republicans.
