After closing the $44 billion Twitter Inc TWTR Buyout is expected to be one of the most significant moves by Elon Musk’s attitude toward Twitter employees as he takes over the company. A report suggests he has no plans to do so Cut staff, but he did not expressly rule out layoffs.
Amidst this excitement, two pranksters duped the media as news of the layoffs of former Twitter employees circulated online. According to that reportHer prankster turned out to be an ex-employee from Twitter. They carried cardboard boxes outside the company’s San Francisco headquarters, showing that they had been fired from the company following Musk’s takeover.
A reporter from CNBC approached them and when questioned, one of them said his name was Daniel Johnson and another identified himself as Rahul with the surname “Ligma”.
The CNBC reporter then continued Twitterand wrote in a now-deleted tweet, “It’s happening. The whole team of data engineers let go. That’s two of them. You are visibly shocked. Daniel tells us he owns a Tesla and doesn’t know how he’s going to make payments.”
Skepticism soon spread on social media when one of the pranksters said his name was “Rahul Ligma” – which everyone linked to a popular internet meme.
A Newsmax reporter tweeted that Twitter headquarters were being trolled by brutal actors pretending to be Twitter employees.

Musk took the opportunity to troll the fake media reports, tweeting, “Ligma Johnson nailed it.”
