Twitter boss Elon Musk sent social media and a few meme coins into a frenzy late Tuesday after posting a photo of a dog, believed to be his pet Shiba Inu, taking on the role of the microblogging site’s “new CEO.”

What happened: Musk said the new dog head was “amazing” and “so much better than the other guy,” though it’s unclear if he’s self-referencing or its predecessor.

In a separate tweet, Musk said the new CEO – identified as Floki in the photo – “is great with numbers” and even has “style” as the pet was made to pose with a black sweatshirt and fake glasses .

Dogecoins DOGE/USD co-founder Bill Markus Musk responded by saying, “I appreciate that he wears glasses.”

Why it matters: Musk is actively looking for a new CEO to take the helm of the near-bankrupt social media company after the tech mogul posted a poll on the microblogging site last month asking users if he should step down.

It’s worth noting that Musk is also known as “the dog dad,” who has repeatedly tweeted in favor of the meme coin.
