Elon Musk appeared on Tucker Carlson Tonight Tuesday night and touched on the subject extraterrestrial life.
What happened: “A lot of people ask me where the aliens are,” he said Tesla And SpaceX CEO to Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson.
“If anyone knew anything about extraterrestrials on Earth, it would be me. I’m very familiar with space stuff. I haven’t seen any evidence of extraterrestrials.”
Musk said, “I’d tweet it in a split second right now.” He quipped it would be “the jackpot,” which drew eight billion likes.
The billionaire shared an anecdote about a general in the 1960s who said that if they pulled an alien out, they would have no problem getting a defense budget increase.

Why it matters: Musk said he hopes there is another conscious life that is peaceful. “We haven’t seen anything yet,” Musk said.
This isn’t the first time Musk has raised the issue of life beyond Earth. He joked in 2022 that if “we found aliens, SpaceX would probably generate a ton more revenue.”
Speaking on a Nelk Boys podcast last August, he said he hadn’t been to Area 51, a secret United States Air Force facility in Nevada often associated with extraterrestrials.
He said Area 51 wasn’t all that mysterious and denied it Idea of ”Crazy Alien” weapons there.
