at Tesla, Inc TSLA AI day 2022 late Friday, Elon Musk dealt skillfully with all questions thrown at him, but one left him a little perplexed and searching for an answer.

One of the participants asks what Musk would like to do when he gets back into his 20s and what advice he would give his younger self.

He stood lost in thought for a while and rolled his eyes upwards. He said, “I’m trying to find something useful.”

Musk also said he would try to expose himself to as many smart people as possible, and read a lot of books. In hindsight, he said he did.

“I think there’s a certain benefit to not necessarily being too intense, like enjoying the moment a little bit more,” the billionaire said.

“I would say it would be a good idea to stop occasionally and smell the roses,” he added.

Recalling an incident when SpaceX was developing the Falcon 1 rocket on a beautiful island, he said he didn’t drink anything the whole time on the beach.

“I should have had a drink on the beach. That would have been fine,” he added.
