HOUSTON, March 21, 2023 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Emerson Firm, PLLC (“Emerson”) announces an ongoing investigation into the data breach at Zoll Medical Corporation. This investigation relates to the theft of more than 1 million patients’ proprietary health information.

According to a notification letter issued by Customs – “On January 28, 2023, we detected unusual activity on our internal network and took immediate action to contain the incident. We consulted with third-party cybersecurity experts to determine our response to the incident and we notified law enforcement. We have determined that your information may have been affected on or about February 2, 2023. Our investigation into the incident is ongoing.” Zoll told the Maine Attorney General’s Office on March 10, 2023 that just over a million people were affected by the violation.

Medical device manufacturers collect and store extensive information about patients and consumers and should take every possible precaution to keep this data safe. However, many consumers affected by ZOLL’s recent data breach have begun to question the company’s commitment to data security. This is the second major breach reported by Customs in the last four years.

Emerson represents consumers across the country and has extensive class action experience with proven results. Emerson’s attorneys have dedicated more than forty years to complex commercial disputes and have recovered over $1 billion in class action lawsuits for consumers in the United States.
