CEO of Tesla and Twitter Elon Musk interacted with the former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev on Twitter on Monday after releasing his predictions for the coming year.

What happened: Medvedev, who is currently deputy chairman of Russia’s Security Council, made several predictions about 2023, including one where civil war erupts in the United States, leading to the secession of California and Texas.

“Elon Musk [will] win the presidential elections in a number of states that will be handed over to the GOP after the end of the new civil war,” said the former Russian leader.

Musk responded to the prediction by saying, “Epic thread!”

Musk laughed at the thread saying “lol” and set a reminder for a year later to “remind” him of the predictions.

Why It Matters :TThis isn’t Musk’s first contact with Medvedev, who served as President of Russia between 2008 and 2012 and later as Presidential Prime Minister Wladimir Putin.

Musk in the past mocked Russia’s military campaign in Ukraine after Medvedev criticized the resignation Liz Truss as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.

Musk has also interacted with Putin but said the talk is on not about Ukraine.
