FedEx, Texas Instruments, and 3 Stocks to Watch Heading into Friday -…

With US stock futures trading lower this morning on Friday, some of the stocks that may draw investor focus today are as follows:

  • fedex corp FDX published preliminary results. The company now expects first-quarter revenue of about $23.2 billion and adjusted first-quarter earnings per share of about $3.44. FedEx has withdrawn its earnings guidance for fiscal 2023. The company expects the business situation to weaken further in the second quarter. FedEx shares fell 16.6% to $170.90 in the after-hours trading session.
  • Syros Pharmaceuticals, Inc. SYRS and Tyme Technologies, Inc. TYM announced shareholder approval of the merger agreement. Syros also announced that a 1:10 reverse stock split will go into effect on September 16. Syros shares are up 10.4% in after-hours trading at $0.8050.
  • Tyme Technologies shares were also up 14.8% to $0.33 in the after-hours trading session.

  • Applied Optoelectronics, Inc. AAOI announced the sale of its Chinese manufacturing facilities to Yuhan Optoelectronic Technology for US$150 million. Shares of Applied Optoelectronics are up 42.8% to $3.57 in after-hours trading.
  • Texas Instruments Incorporated TXN announced plans to increase the quarterly dividend to $1.24 per share from $1.15. The company’s board of directors also approved an additional $15 billion repurchase of its common stock. Texas Instruments shares are up 1.2% in after-hours trading at $164.54.
