Heidi Gallery at JSDD announces their first juried art exhibition, The WAE…

The inaugural exhibition runs October 20-December 15, 2022 and will feature fine art by local artists in the 2,000-square-foot space of the Heidi Gallery.

06.10.2022 / PRZen / LIVINGSTON, NJ – The Heidi Gallery at the JSDD (jsddmetrowest.org/Heidi Gallery), 310 Eisenhower Parkway, Livingston, announces its first juried group show. The WAE Open will be held October 20-December 15, 2022 and will feature 45 works by 33 artists from New Jersey and the tri-state area. All works will be for sale. Admission to the exhibition is free and the gallery is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm and by appointment.

There will be an opening reception on Thursday 20 October from 6pm to 9pm where the winner of the exhibition’s Best in Show award will be announced. The artist tour and the final reception will take place on Sunday, December 11, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Contact the gallery at 201.341.0797 or Monica@jsdd.org register for the receptions.

Diedra Harris-Kelly, MFA, the judge for The WAE Open, said: “It was an honor to work with Heidi Gallery’s first judged exhibition and to be a judge at the very first WAE Open. The artworks selected for this exhibition display a variety of contemporary themes and techniques – photography, collage, ink drawings, encaustic painting and ceramic sculptural forms. Many works use traditional media that push boundaries and realign perspectives.”

Harris-Kelly is Arts Administrator and Co-Director of the Romare Bearden Foundation. She has extensive curatorial experience across photography, painting, archival prints and contemporary art.
