Here’s why the CIA Director paid a secret visit to Ukraine and what he…

With the Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau The US has announced several new measures in support of Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has granted further support.

In a more recent development, CIA Director William J Burns made a secret visit to Ukraine to meet Zelenskyy, CNN reports. During his trip, Burns promised more resounding US support.

“While he was there, he reaffirmed the US commitment to assist Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression, including continued sharing of intelligence,” CNN quoted an official statement as saying.

The US is skeptical that Russia will use a “dirty nuclear bomb”. Burns told a media outlet last month that intelligence agencies had seen “no practical evidence” of an “imminent threat.”

Earlier, Ukraine accused Russia of building dirty bombs at the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant, which is currently under Russian control.

The head of the Russian nuclear, biological and chemical protection troops, Lieutenant General Igor Kirillovcountered that Kyiv wanted to portray Russia as “nuclear terrorists”.

President Joe Biden has repeated his warning to Russia against using nuclear weapons.

Russia’s defense minister Sergei Shoigu raised the specter of the radiological Warfare in talks with Western defense chiefs as he warned Ukraine was preparing to use a “dirty bomb”.

However, US Secretary of State Anton Blinken dismissed Shoigu’s claims, saying “the world would see through any attempt by Russia to use this allegation as a pretext for escalation,” according to a selection of the call.

The Pentagon has said the US is complete ready to deal with a nuclear scenario with Russia.
