Illinois advocates say social justice program is on the verge of collapse…

Illinois’ The social justice program is “on the brink of failure” due to cumbersome government regulation.warn cannabis justice advocates and business owners.

That condition recently problematic 185 total of 185 cannabis dispensary licenses for the use of cannabis for Social Justice applicantsincluding three additional conditional adult use licenses issued by Governor JB Pritzker and the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) to applicants selected in lotteries held during the summer of 2021.

Meanwhile Illinois free time cannabis sales posted a 4.6% sequential decline to $129.4 million in August after beating a record in July with its biggest monthly sales year-to-date.

Seattle officials give the green light to bills aimed at social justice in the cannabis industry

That Seattle City Council recently gave the green light to three bills aimed at establishing equality policies in the cannabis industry and reaching out to those affected by the War on Drugs, reported Q13 FOX.

More precisely, the Measures aim to:

  • CB120391 – Announces Seattle’s intention to engage in cannabis justice, cannabis conviction overturning, justice work and funding, and to develop a needs assessment for the needs of the workforce and the cannabis industry.
  • CB120392 – Promotes equity in cannabis licensing and expands licensed activities
  • CB120393 – Requires employers to take steps to promote the preservation, safety and stability of jobs in the cannabis industry.

The law comes into force for 30 days after Mayor Bruce Harrell signs them into law.
