Partnered to develop a state-of-the-art manufacturing research facility aiming to transform productivity and increase capabilities
LONDON, October 14, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Info®the industry’s cloud company, today announced a long-term strategic partnership agreement with the National Manufacturing Institute Scotland (NMIS). Infor’s investment will support the development of Model Digital Factory Demonstrators (MDFD) for the NMIS Digital Factory environment at NMIS’ new 11,500 square foot headquarters. This follows Infor’s role as a founding sponsor of The Smart Factory @ Wichitaan immersive experience center launched by Deloitte and Wichita State University in KansasUS
NMIS, operated by the University of Strathclyde, is a group of industry-led manufacturing research and development centers with a network of partners brought together to strengthen the manufacturing community. It is part of the British High Value Manufacturing Catapult. Located next to it Glasgow Airport in Advanced Manufacturing Innovation District Scotland (AMIDS) in Renfrewshire, the new NMIS headquarters, supported by the Scottish Government and its corporate bodies, will provide facilities to conduct pioneering manufacturing and related supply chain research to transform levels of productivity, make companies more competitive and enhance the skills of current and improve future workforce. When completed, it will host business leaders and visitors from around the world Europe.
Infor’s investment will fund dedicated MDFDs that will present end-to-end manufacturing use cases in the NMIS Digital Factory environment and will be integrated into the plant’s IT backbone and the digital and automation cells. They will show how modern, advanced technologies and solutions can help companies automate processes and transform workplaces.
