Iran’s court handed down its first known death sentence on Sunday as the country enters the eighth week of post-regime protests Death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini.
What happened: The unidentified rioter was convicted of “disturbing public order and comfort, the community and conspiring to commit a crime against national security” by setting fire to a government building, according to the judiciary’s website, Mizan Online.
